Dr. Hemaidan is a graduate of Aleppo University School of Medicine and has his medical training at University of Texas; Indiana University Medical Center and St. Helen’s Hospital in Hastings England. Dr. Hemaidan is the Chairman for the Department of Medicine at Halifax Medical Center. He is also the Director of Gastroenterology Department for Florida Health Care Plans. His awards and recognition include FMA Distinguished Physician Certificate, “America’s Top Physicians” listing for many years, “Top 100 Doctors in America” National Leadership Award, AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Dr. Hemaidan is also serves as the Medical Director for Advanced Medical Research Center.
Zachary Neubert, DO FACP

Dr. Neubert is a board-certified physician specializing in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is a new addition to Advanced Gastroenterology Practice, and brings with him the knowledge and experience of 11 years of practicing medicine in the United States Army, where he served on active duty. He completed his internal medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and his gastroenterology fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California. He served as chief of gastroenterology services at Tripler Army Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and a fellow member of the American College of Physicians. As a New Smyrna Beach native, he is very excited about being back serving his local community.

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Cantave enrolled at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in the Dominican Republic to pursue a career in Medicine. He graduated medical school with honors and moved to Miami, Florida to do his residency in internal medicine at Aventura hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Miami/Miami VA/Jackson Memorial hospital for 1 year. He returned thereafter to Aventura hospital to completed a 3 year fellowship in gastroenterology. Joining AGI and Halifax health will provide a wonderful opportunity to work for a practice and a hospital that is patient-focused and serves a variety of patients from around the region. A proponent of patient autonomy and patient-centered approach, Dr. Cantave will look forward to working together with his patients to develop an individualized health care plan that works for them, so that they can live a happy and healthy life.
